What is appointment scheduling software?
Appointment scheduling software is the diary at the centre of a practice: who is being seen, by whom, where, and for how long. In a clinical setting it has to do more than a calendar, because it also has to prevent the thing calendars do not prevent, which is two people booking the same slot.
Once a patient has picked a time and entered their details, Atlacare holds the slot for ten minutes while they confirm, so the double-booking race that plagues public booking pages cannot happen.

Calendar sync
On paid plans, each practitioner can connect their own Google Calendar for two-way sync: appointments go into Google, and Google busy times block those slots in Atlacare. A read-only iCal link works with Apple Calendar, Outlook and others. Outlook connection is coming soon.

Appointment scheduling: common questions
Can patients book themselves in?
Yes, through your own public booking page, with no patient login and no per-booking commission. Every plan includes it: on Free it's a simple booking page with Atlacare branding, and paid plans add your own branding, intake forms and the patient portal.
What stops two patients booking the same slot?
Once a patient has picked a time and entered their details, the slot is held for ten minutes while they confirm. The hold is released automatically if they do not finish.
Does it sync with my phone calendar?
Yes, on paid plans. Each practitioner can connect their own Google Calendar in Settings, Calendar sync, so appointments appear in Google and Google busy times block those slots in Atlacare. There is also a read-only iCal link you can subscribe to in Apple Calendar, Outlook or any calendar app. A direct Outlook connection is coming soon.
