Acupuncture is not statutorily regulated in the UK; in practice it is governed by the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) Codes of Professional Conduct and Safe Practice, a PSA Accredited Register (acupuncture.org.uk)

Yes. It is built around BAcC record-keeping rather than certified by anyone.
Can I record the points I used?
Yes. The point prescription field lets you select points from an autocomplete of the most common points, with code and Chinese name, and record laterality, depth, stimulation and retention time, alongside your rationale for the point selection.
Is Atlacare BAcC-compliant?
Atlacare is built around the BAcC Codes of Professional Conduct and Safe Practice: consent, single-use needle confirmation, contraindication checks, contemporaneous dated notes, medical and family history and advice given are all captured by default. Compliance remains your professional responsibility, but the record supports it.
How is my patient data protected?
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with role-based access, an audit trail of key actions and nightly backups. Health data is treated as special-category data under UK GDPR, with consent tracking and retention rules. The clinic owner can download patient data as a CSV at any time.
Can I move my records from another system?
Yes. Atlacare imports patients from Cliniko, Jane, WriteUpp, Carepatron and Pabau, and matches your practitioners for you. The import wizard is guided and self-serve, and we can help you with the switch.
