Moving from Cliniko to Atlacare takes two steps: export a CSV from Cliniko, then run Atlacare's import wizard, which already knows Cliniko's column layout. Here's the full path.
1. Export your patients from Cliniko
In Cliniko, export your patient list to a CSV file. Cliniko lets you export patients from your account's data or reporting area — save the file somewhere you can find it. If you also want to bring across contacts or appointment history, export those to CSV too.
2. Import into Atlacare
In Atlacare, go to Settings → Data → Import. Choose Cliniko as the source — the wizard uses a Cliniko preset, so it recognises Cliniko's column names and maps them to Atlacare fields automatically. You can review and adjust the mapping before anything is saved.
The import runs in batches with a live progress indicator, so a large list won't time out. Atlacare never creates duplicates silently — matching records are flagged for you to decide.
3. Consent and practitioners
Every patient imported this way is recorded with offline consent — meaning consent was captured in your previous system, not in Atlacare — so your UK GDPR consent trail stays intact. The wizard also matches practitioner names from your Cliniko export to the practitioners in your Atlacare account, so appointments and notes land with the right person.
A note on plan limits
On the Free plan you can hold up to 20 patients. If your Cliniko list is larger, upgrade to a paid plan before importing so every record comes across.
Importing is available to Owner and Manager roles. Stuck partway? Use the Help button in the top bar and we'll come back to you.
