The patient portal lets a patient see their upcoming appointments, any notes you've marked patient-visible, their invoices and their exercise plan — without ringing the clinic. It's available on paid plans.
Turn it on for a patient
Open the patient's profile and set their portal email, then enable portal access. The patient signs in with a magic link sent to that address — there's no password to manage, and the link expires after 24 hours for safety.
The age rule
The portal is for patients aged 16 and over, so a date of birth needs to be on the record first. For younger patients, the parent or guardian books and manages care with you directly. See why the portal is 16+.
What the patient sees
- Upcoming and past appointments (and rescheduling, if you allow it)
- Clinical notes you've marked patient-visible — nothing internal or confidential
- Invoices to view and download
- Their exercise plan and any forms to complete
Everything else — internal notes, other patients, your admin — stays inside the clinic. The portal only ever queries patient-visible content, so nothing sensitive can leak there.
Patients get help from you through the portal's message thread, not from Atlacare — see help for patients.
