The registration link is a simple page where a new patient enters their own details. When they submit it, Atlacare creates their patient record, so you don't have to type anything in.
It's included on the Solo, Clinic and Practice plans (it counts as a form, and forms aren't on the Free plan). Owners and managers can switch it on.
Turn it on
- Go to Settings → Patient intake.
- Turn on Turn on the new-patient registration link.
- Under Your registration link, click Copy. The button next to it opens a preview of the form in a new tab.
- Send the link to new patients by email or text, or add it to your website.
Turn the switch off at any time and the link stops accepting new registrations.
What the patient fills in
- First name, last name and email (required)
- Phone
- Date of birth (required, so you can tell apart people with the same name)
- Address, town or city, and postcode
- GP or doctor (optional)
- Reason for visit, or anything you should know (optional)
- Agreement that your clinic may store their details to provide their care, with a link to the privacy notice (required)
- An optional, unticked box to receive updates and offers from your clinic
That last box is a positive opt-in. Only patients who tick it are recorded as giving marketing consent, so they're the only ones your campaigns can reach. See recording patient consent.
What happens next
The new record appears in your Patients list, tagged Self-registration, and you get a notification.
If the same person registers twice (same email and same name), Atlacare doesn't make a duplicate. You get a notification instead, so you can review their existing profile and update anything that's changed. A different name on the same email, such as a parent registering two children, creates a separate record.
Tips
- Send the link when someone first gets in touch, so their details are in before the first appointment.
- If they'll book online anyway, they can do both on your booking page. The registration link suits patients you book yourself.
- For a full intake questionnaire or signed consent, send a form as well.
